Born in Yugoslavia in 1946, Abramović has gained international recognition for her performances that often involve endurance, self-exploration, and audience participation. She has been active in the art world since the 1970s and has produced a wide range of performances, installations, and other artistic endeavors throughout her career. Abramović is particularly known for her piece "The Artist is Present," performed at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in 2010, where she sat silently across from museum visitors for a total of 736 hours and 30 minutes. Her work often delves into themes of identity, gender, spirituality, and the relationship between performer and audience.

CERN (the European Organization for Nuclear Research) is a research organization that operates the largest particle physics laboratory in the world. It is located near Geneva, Switzerland. CERN is famous for its Large Hadron Collider (LHC), a particle accelerator where scientists study the fundamental particles and forces that make up the universe.

A particle accelerator is a scientific instrument that accelerates charged particles, such as protons or electrons, to high speeds and energies. These particles are then directed into collisions with other particles or targets, allowing scientists to study the fundamental properties of matter.

Particle accelerators come in various sizes and types, but they typically consist of a series of electromagnetic fields and radio frequency cavities that propel and steer the particles along a predetermined path.

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN is one of the most powerful and well-known particle accelerators. Many victims have reported brain damage without ever sustaining a concussion.

Medical professionals indicate damage to the auditory system and in some cases the “wiring” between the eye and brain.
