Hello and welcome to the first episode of ResponseAU and I’m your host Phillip Mitchell.
This is our first episode, and in it we will set the scene for what’s to come.
The initial function of this podcast is to provide you the listener a place to come and hear from the responders you know and may have served with now or in the past.
We’ll be recording interviews with individuals from as many different groups of responders, initially we hope to kick things off with our second episode called
“The captains of the Knox Group”
This will be a pre recorded one on one interview with the Knox group captains I can only expect that we may find out some hidden gems and answers to things we may have only wondered about.
Some of the groups we intend including in these series are,
Fire
Police
Ambulance
SES
Army
Navy
Air Force
Security
Doctors
Nurses
Mines Rescue
Snow Rescue
NGO’s
Government Departments
If you can add to this list please contact us, you can send us your thoughts and suggestions from our website www.responseau.com and we will try to cover all we can.
So stay tuned and maybe even subscribe so you will know when new content is added.

ResponseAU The introduction
Hello and welcome to ResponseAU I’m your host Phillip Mitchell.
This is my first recording and as such it is introduction to myself and my vision for this podcast.
I intend to publish a fortnightly show with each episode being 30 to 45 min in length
This generally will be perfect for the morning or evening commute to or from work or even school.
Each episode will have a theme that links them together to complete the series.
For instance, our initial series will be called
“The Captains of the Knox Group”
These will be one on one sit downs with each of the Knox Captains
We will talk about their history and the reason for them joining their chosen service.
To become a Captain, you must have many skills and nothing builds skill like experience it is here we will talk about those experiences and what effect it has had on the person.
What are the key points that has brought them here and made them the Aussie Responder that they are?
Will we see a common thread with the different people we talk to?
Are Responders the same irrelevant the service?
And will the branch of service they have joined also share certain commonalities?
I will be recording interviews with individuals from many different groups of responders.
These also will be a prerecorded one on one interviews
We hope to discover some of the more interesting and humorous stories.
So, what’s a responder? And who are they?
They are many
and they are intertwined into our lives and our communities
Who do you immediately think of when you hear the word “Responder”
Do you think of
Police
Fire
Ambulance
SES
Yep I recon most of us would.
But what about
Army
Navy
Air Force
Security
Mines Rescue
Or perhaps
Doctors
Nurses
NGO’s
And the countless Government Departments
Think about any group who is a responder and is Australian then you start to understand the potential for stories and insights that we may uncover.
So who knows how many more groups we can come up with and what stories we can get from them,
this is where you come in
I need you all to go to the website www.responseau.com and make a suggestion who or perhaps what group you would like to hear from.
I will look at these and make some enquiries and who knows maybe we can put something together that works.
If you can add to this list please contact us
you can send us your thoughts and suggestions via the website
www.responseau.com
and I will try and cover as many of the groups as I can.
So, stay tuned and maybe even subscribe
If you do this then you will know when the new content is added.
Thank you for listening and I hope to be entertaining you soon
