Alberto's family has managed the Monfalletto property in the town of La Morra, the center of Barolo production since 1340. Alberto's grandfather, Paolo, is one of legends of Barolo production and began making Barolo at the estate in the mid-1940s. The family owns nearly 70 acres of prime vineyard land that primarily produces Barolo, in addition to other red and white varietals. We open a historic bottle from the estate, a Barolo from 1978, the last vintage made by Paolo Cordero di Montezemolo.
