This podcast was inspired by all the conversations taking place in the Barbershop where I work. I decided to take the conversations from the shop to you, the community.

This is a space where we discuss ALL THINGS BLACK, including, economy, education, family, love, history and so much more.

A place to promote forward-thinking and solution-oriented forum to discuss critical issues. We aim to transform and improve lives by having deep conversations on hard-hitting topics, identifying matters of concern, finding root causes and what we can do as a global community to be a catalyst for change.

Michelle Edwards (uses she/her) Specialized Educator What you see, is what you get! A pure straight shooter with a thirst and hunger to empower youth while embodying the late Kobe Bryant’s “Mamba Mentality”. Supporting others and molding minds has been a passion of mine since I was quite young. I grew a young black girl of Caribbean descent in a predominantly Caucasian community that respected me at times as an athlete but did not reflect and/or teach me who I was, and where I fit as a young black girl. Thus, rich in some experiences and poor in others, I lacked any form of true self-identity and have found a burning desire to rebrand the true me in today’s society. After 13 years of teaching, I still wake up feeling like I’ve won the lottery, having the opportunity to stand before a group of young pupils, instilling in them the power to achieve their goals and desires; the power to teach them to be authentic in their journey and true to themselves; and the power to conquer all adversities. A force to be reckoned with, I am black, I am proud, I am an educator, I am Michelle Edwards!!
