    TechInAfrica – After launching its third-party fact-checking program in five African countries—Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon, Senegal, and South Africa—Facebook has now expanded the program to 10 additional African countries in Sub-Saharan Africa including Burkina Faso, Ethiopia, Somalia, Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania, Democratic Republic of Congo, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Conakry, and Ghana.

    TechInAfrica – Currently in discussion with the Ethiopian government is Eutelsat, the French satellite broadcasting service provider, in regards to the possibility of its latest satellite providing an internet service that covers the African market. Called Konnect and set to launch at the end of December, the satellite will provide broadband internet-connected all across Africa.

    TechInAfrica – The software giant company, SAP is set to train about 1.5 million young Africans this year for its Africa Code Week 2019 initiative. The skills development initiative has trained about 4.1 million African youth by far and this year hopefully it will meet its target for the additional numbers of participants. This year will be the fifth edition of ACW and will be taking place during October.

    TechInAfrica – American internet entrepreneur and CEO of Twitter, Jack Patrick Dorsey is planning to visit several African countries, including South Africa, Nigeria, Ghana, and Ethiopia in November this year. Dorsey said that he will be spending most of his time meeting with African entrepreneurs, including Betelhem Dessie, a young Ethiopian entrepreneur and the Founder of iCog – Anyone Can Code.

Both of the mobile devices apply Google’s Android operating system and cost $190 and $130, respectively.
