Call Vitamin C, because today is graduation day! Matt and Ashley have watched all 100 of the greatest American films and were stoned through every extremely long second of them. The stoners take their favorite patriotic edibles and watch Yankee Doodle Dandy, which is a sweet old movie about putting on a show and spending your wife’s money. 


 


This is the final episode of the list and the stoners want to thank each and every one of you that have followed this journey. There will be a special episode for Matt and Ashley to decompress after years of prestigious viewings and to reflect on how the list pushed their boundaries and offered history lessons for American culture and maybe some other dumb silly stuff, too. The stoners have arrived at the penultimate film of the list and this classic has everything: Sidney Poitier’s effortless cool, Katharine Hepburn’s wavering tears, chilling Get Out vibes, a nod to the tackiness of the aughts, and maybe the best speech in any movie ever?! Matt and Ashley lament the loss of video stores, determine that Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner is the most patriotic film ever, and shout it from the rooftops one more time - parents just don’t understand! Oh, and Ashley is downright horny for the level of communication going on with this couple.

Here we go, besties! Only three movies left on the list and the microphone is on the fritz again. Once you get over the sensational audio quality, the stoners share a look into their hardcore senioritis while sinking into 90's syrupy Westerns. We all feel a strange way about Matt's basement time with Unforgiven, accept the fact that we need to lower our expectations for everything, and wait, is Clint Eastwood a grizzled Christ?

Matt and Ashley are overwhelmed and delighted by the zany ball of anxiety that Bringing Up Baby is. Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant are a couple of nutcases dealing with an actual leopard that is the cutest biggest sweetie. Everyone is talking, no one is listening, and, ugh, you know the deal, just listen to the stoners ramble about silly sh!t and have a good day and stuff.

Matt and Ashley are back chatting in the living room, in the very spots they both maybe kind of dozed off while watching The Searchers! Despite the mixed feelings on some of the Westerns on the list, the stoners are surprisingly insightful about the tropes and evolution of the genre. But don't worry, Ashley is still complaining about grumpy old white men with their nasty attitudes and Matt got to eat some tasty boxed stuffing, so all is right in the world.

The stoners make their holiday return to the list with Goodfellas, a movie that kicked in the 90's with hella violence and even more cocaine. Ashley cannot say "watch Pulp Fiction" to save her life and Matt drops a pretty excellent Ray Liotta impression. The stoners enjoy a faux aquarium ambience as they record for the first time ever in their living room and they give a big shoutout to true gangster films. Oh, and Joe Pesci is absolutely terrifying.
