In this episode we cover Aileen Wuornos, a woman sometimes characterized as a 'lesbian manhater', an identity many of us can probably relate to! Aileen killed 7 men in Florida in 1989-1990 and gained a lot of media attention as the first (American) 'female' serial killer. Aileen initially claimed all 7 men attacked her and she killed in self-defense, but she later changed her story and said it was all done in cold blood. The details surrounding Aileen's case challenge the ideas of traditional feminity and also give us an opportunity to examine the archaic nature of the death penalty. Please enjoy responsibly.
