I think Steve Schmidt is eloquent, insightful, and a potent speaker. Americans need to hear you and should listen to you.

However, you and other pundits don’t consider or forget, that Trump was not duly elected. So he’s swung the pendulum in a direction it would not have gone. We must ensure elections are fair ( I would include gerrymandering and vote suppression with meddling), I’m not sure that’s happening. Trump wouldn’t have been elected, or won’t be re-elected in a fair election. So based on fair elections, where are we headed as a country, that is a more accurate, in my view, place to start. Once Trump is gone, naturally. We fall into a trap when we legitimize Trump. The ‘Trump effect’ is dumbing down us and our political discourse.

Anyway, thank you both for this podcast.
