    Battlefront 1 and 2 (2004, 2005)

    Battlefront 1 and 2 (2004, 2005)

Alex Kane and Brock Wilbur revisit the one-two punch of Pandemic Studio's Battlefront games, which allowed you to embody grunts amid some of SW's biggest battles. The second game actually has some interesting canon tie-ins, but both games are beloved and this was just fun to sink dozens of hours into prepping. If you like this podcast or Alex Kane, order his book entirely about KotOR. It is like this show, but better! https://bossfightbooks.com/products/star-wars-knights-of-the-old-republic-by-alex-kane

    Republic Commando (2005)

Alex Kane and Brock Wilbur go back to the first person shoot slash team management title Republic Commando, which told a dark Call of Duty style black ops story, using a group of good ole clone boys. It's a supremely weird game with some of the best (now canon!) trooper gentlemen out there. If you like this podcast or Alex Kane, order his book entirely about KotOR. Knights of the Old Republic (2003)

Alex Kane and Brock Wilbur dive into 2003's Knights of the Old Republic for the Xbox. This BioWare title built a gigantic universe thousands of years before the events of the films, and pulled off a wildly complicated RPG with memorable characters. If you like this podcast, this game, or Alex Kane as a person: pre-order his book entirely about KotOR via Boss Fight Books. It comes out in two weeks and is annoyingly good. https://bossfightbooks.com/products/star-wars-knights-of-the-old-republic-by-alex-kane

    X-Wing (1993) and TIE-Fighter (1994)

Brock Wilbur and Alex Kane are back. This time: a division in the Force! Two games were released back to back that had were basically the same, but from wildly different perspectives. X-Wing and TIE-Fighter are both space plane dogfight games. One comes from the perspective of the good guys; the other got more complicated and sold the bad guys as good guys. Guess which of us that messed up? (It's Brock: the Bad Boy.) Enjoy this episode and see you next month with some Knights and the aged Republic.

    The Empire Strikes Back (1982)

    The Empire Strikes Back (1982)

Alex Kane and Brock Wilbur are back for X-Wingin' It: the show about Star Wars video games and the stories they tell. After two episodes from the mid 90s, it seemed like the right time to cover some of the fundamentals bases. Especially Hoth base. Today, Alex and Brock are discussing the Atari 2600 game The Empire Strikes Back, which is the very first Star Wars video game. There was a surprising amount to dig into here. Enjoy and see you next month with some very popular flight sims.

    Dark Forces (1995)

    Dark Forces (1995)

Alex Kane and Brock Wilbur are back for X-Wingin' It. Today is all about Dark Forces from 1995. The LucasArts title was an attempt to make Star Wars in DOOM, after modders had already started making their own Stars Wars games in DOOM. The early first person shooter title still has a lot of bizarre story bits to offer, amid a game that remains equal parts frustrating and fascinating. Join us, won't you?
