This BioWare title built a gigantic universe thousands of years before the events of the films, and pulled off a wildly complicated RPG with memorable characters. X-Wing (1993) and TIE-Fighter (1994)
Brock Wilbur and Alex Kane are back. This time: a division in the Force! Two games were released back to back that had were basically the same, but from wildly different perspectives. X-Wing and TIE-Fighter are both space plane dogfight games. One comes from the perspective of the good guys; the other got more complicated and sold the bad guys as good guys. After two episodes from the mid 90s, it seemed like the right time to cover some of the fundamentals bases. Especially Hoth base. Today, Alex and Brock are discussing the Atari 2600 game The Empire Strikes Back, which is the very first Star Wars video game. There was a surprising amount to dig into here. The LucasArts title was an attempt to make Star Wars in DOOM, after modders had already started making their own Stars Wars games in DOOM.
