miniheartsbeating... is the solo project of Montréal based performer and composer Jenn Mong. They are primarily involved in the performance of contemporary works on the concert stage, as well as collaboration with composers to create and premiere new works. Inspired by classical piano traditions, ambient sound design, and electronic dance styles, miniheartsbeating... seeks to create a space where analog and digital sounds collide and reshape one another in the spirit of sonic play.

Samantha Blake is a Montréal (Tiohtiá:ke) based photographer, creative director, and party girl. Her work is rooted in the connections that spark within nighttime spaces and underground communities as it focuses on uplifting the excellence of the spectacular people around her.

Her work as a co-founder of UNIKORN is a testament to her undying love for nightlife in the city of Montréal.

Cralias, also known as Dj Animebby, is a Producer/DJ hailing from South London. With a musical spectrum spanning from 70 to 180bpm across both aliases, Cralias delivers a focused blend for ffiles, honing in on the 140-160bpm range. Drawing from his catalogue under both monikers, he curates a mix, featuring tracks from his own repertoire as Cralias and Dj Animebby, alongside selections from friends and influences. The set also offers a preview of some tracks from his upcoming EP, 'Kali Yuga', slated for release in May 2024.

éli del (Ariane Gagné) aims to dive into crude, visceral and enlightening experiences to come back and share what they have found in the abyss. Their practice makes use of calligraphy, diagrams, drawings, songs and tattoos, tools which allow them to connect to their epigenetic legacy of trauma, poverty, mental health and addiction problems, while invoking an inspiring heritage of witchcraft, visions and spirituality. This process leads to pictorial objects that form an erratic cartography inspired by Chaos Magick, psycho-pop literature and ecofeminist practices. Like molts that result from moments of healing, evolution or involution, their works integrate poetic messages – a sibylline prose that is blurred by sharp and sinuous scribbles and abstruse symbols. This textual aspect of their work is made to be sung, deciphered, or left to interpretation, taking the form of motivational phrases and enigmatic advice that serve as an invitation to regeneration, fluidity and ruin.

Graduate of UQAM’s Visual and Media Arts program (2019), they live between europe and Tio’Tia:Ke (Montreal), where their work has been shown in exhibitions, festivals and various public and private spaces such as Projet Casa, Art souterrain and Espace Maurice. They also exhibited pieces in Alcamo (IT), Québec city (CA), Berlin (DE), Brussels (BE) , Youngstown (OH) and Hudson (NY).

An interview about Metatron Press' newest project, GLYPHÖRIA, with Managing Editor, Ashley Obscura.

Ashley Obscura is a Canadian-Mexican poet, writer, publisher and literary curator. She is the author of three poetry collections: SEXO POR ÚLTIMA, AMBIENT TECHNOLOGY and I AM HERE. She is the Founder and Managing Editor of METATRON PRESS (2016), a multi-award-winning literary publisher that publishes experimental and cutting-edge contemporary poetry and fiction in unique pocketbook editions by debut authors. Metatron’s projects also include various explorations in literary discoverability and innovative solutions to capturing the cadence and spirit of contemporary writing, including over 50 events, a podcast and multiple explorations in digital publishing, including the recently released GLYPHÖRIA project, a new digital literary platform.

GLYPHÖRIA is a literary cyber environment designed to optimize the emotional gravity of poetry online through the exhibition of curated multidisciplinary poetry. It asks: How do we mark poetry upon the pixelated walls of the internet in new ways? What if there were a space where traditional and contemporary publishing could seamlessly co-exist, merge, and cross-fertilize to inspire a new generation of literary art forms? If traditional poetry imagined itself on walls, or in print, on paper, bound— GLYPHORIA imagines itself as exploring the marking of meaning and presence on ephemeral digitalia. Via a series of guest-edited issues, GLYPHORIA fuses multimedia poiesis within a living archive of glyphilic glitches, orchestrating an immersive conversation between various forms and formats. Inspired by the glyph, the most ancient form of written communication, GLYPHORIA reimagines how we publish, share literature and pollinate digital chasms in the 21st century. It is their hope to engage poetry in its current iterations— influenced and created within the technological age, its pixels and echos and glitches. Together we will bring collaborative poiesis and emotional gravity to our ambient networks and clouds.
