Have no friends? Neither do we! Join us, Haruka and Themis, weekly as we discuss real-life matters, spill some tea (occasionally), give unsolicited advice (although if you choose to listen, it's not unsolicited), and give our hot (lukewarm, at best) takes on pop culture. From discussing the institutionalized racism which plagues our society to discussing the latest fuck up of a beauty influencer we are here to fill in as your friend for the hour.

#9 Tell ‘em about being East Asian doe (pt. 1)

See now that we’ve established our friendship we should set ground rules right. Don’t assume our language and get our name wrong. We talk through some double standards and touch on more of the cultural differences in the East / West and how we really do be living in a post-colonial eurocentric society …… Can’t believe you’re now sitting through our first rant as friends… feel free to respond via voice message through this link https://anchor.fm/youtellem or email us your thoughts at: youtellempodcast@gmail.com.

    #8 Trip Report

    #8 Trip Report

We’re going (we went) on a trip in our favorite rocket ship, zooming through the skies, little Einsteins! Except we’re not Einstein this is more of the embodiment of your last two brain cells trying to work together but it's also giving your brain cells trying to comfort each other whilst having your brain hurt over the most basic concepts that you are unable to grasp. The study Themis talks about is here, but according to this apparently the ‘study’ was fabricated for a BBC special? But it’s also 3 am and I can’t go down this spiral at the moment which isn’t very academic of me but oh well.  So many questions… but somehow this is in alignment with our episode nothing is real 3.

Also, just an update from our previous episode, we organized a mini donation pool and managed to raise 1451 USD for the aforementioned charities!

Anyway, can’t believe we’re now sharing our stupid thoughts with each other….. We’re really becoming good friends…. feel free to respond via voice message through this link https://anchor.fm/youtellem or email us your thoughts at: youtellempodcast@gmail.com.

#7 Tell ‘em to take action

#7 Tell ‘em to take action

Please take action and contribute. There are various links to petitions, funds, organizations, and other actions you can take, such as educating yourself, through this link. ( https://blacklivesmatters.carrd.co/ )

As the Minnesota Freedom Fund and Brooklyn Community Bail Funds are currently overwhelmed with donations they have asked for donations to be directed to other funds. We have decided to organize a donation pooling and will continue our pledge of $100 USD each distributed to the following: Louisville Community Bail fund, Los Angeles Action Bail fund, Chicago Community Bond fund, all through this link. We will also be donating to Black Trans Femmes in the Arts, Rebuild the Block, Black Women's Blueprint, Spark Alliance, Hong Kong Free Press, Stand News, and Trauma Supplies of HK Volunteer Medics.

#6 Tell ‘em about being a ramen connoisseur

#6 Tell ‘em about being a ramen connoisseur

Yeah you got that yummy ramen, yummy ramen, yummy ramen.

See again, nobody fucking asked for this but yes, we seriously unironically talked about our infatutation with packaged ramen and different types of noodle dishes for an hour. Do you like ramen? What's your favorite type of ramen? This is the fun and fresh lighthearted (though your arteries might get clogged from eating too much ramen) episode we keep talking about. We’re okay. In fact, we think we’re basically definitely friends now since we overshared so much during this episode (not just Haruka but Themis too).

If you email your thoughts or you know… leave a hate comment with five stars… we just might….. release the censored section…. haha just kidding….. unless,,,....

Also despite Haruka repeatedly making notes to herself for ‘editing’ the editing in this episode was actually done by Themis so …. you got bamboozled! Unless…. you have chosen to read this prior to listening….,,,, then good on you!!

#5 Tell ‘em about your big brain (ft. Erie)

#5 Tell ‘em about your big brain (ft. Erie)

If this were a coming of age movie, this would be the climax (or it better be, because we can’t handle any more right now). Join us, Haruka and Themis and our very first guest as we discuss our experiences and the current dilemmas we are facing as students in a transitional time of their lives. Is our friendship established now? Maybe things will work out, maybe they won’t. Who knows? Only time will tell.

ps. sorry for the delays... we were having some technical and logistical difficulties (not that it really matters) but thanks for sticking around!!

#4 Tell ‘em how to not get doxxed

#4 Tell ‘em how to not get doxxed

Ah yes, we are living in a digital age where we are all bonded together via the internet. That’s how we’re managing to stay in touch during the pandemic through online calling and psychologically damaging children to learn dances on TikTok. Thanks, technology …Oh wait.... Oh shit… Who’s that… Someone just joined our zoom? Shit …

Ok wait they’re gone. Maybe we should start taking our privacy more seriously online and be more conscious of what we’re posting of ourselves and of others. Heck, even these podcasts and descriptions should be re-evaluated too ...

Please note: we are in no way trying to defame any companies, this is purely based on what we have read in articles, and what we have experienced.

Also here is an article to read https://decrypt.co/23283/zoom-is-watching-you-heres-what-you-can-do-about-it
