    Chris is a recent graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance and Business Analytics. Chris currently hosts and produces the Zoom Innovators in Business Series where he conducts “interviews with leaders, entrepreneurs/ innovators to ask them for advice for college [where] each interview is dedicated to a charitable organization”. He is also the Founder of the Yourbook App, a digital yearbook. In the past,  he has also served as the Editor in Chief of the Penn Innovators In Business, Data Analysis and Operations Intern for a Presidential Campaign, Investment/Equity Research Intern for the Behring Global Educational Foundation, China Regional Coordinator for the World Bank Group on the Ideas for Action Initiative and, Policy, and Advocacy and Government Relations Intern for Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.   

    Chris shares with us his experiences growing up in the "Friendship Hotel", building new organizations, applying Newton's laws of motion to his own life, combatting echo chambers, and more!

    Yelp Software Engineer Kyle Chua talks about Failing in College and Personal Growth

    Welcome to our eighth episode!  

    Our special guest for this episode is our good friend Kyle Chua.  

    Kyle is a recent graduate of the University of Southern California where he majored in Computer Science & Business Administration. Kyle works as a Software Engineer at Yelp. During college, he was a Teaching Assistant for courses in Full-Stack Web Development and Web Publishing. He was also a Research Associate for the USC School of Pharmacy where he created a tool to help with data analysis of FDA reports. Outside of school, he interned at a couple of tech startups in the hospitality and travel industries, then later at Etsy, where he helped build a variety of amazing features used by millions of people.  

    Kyle shares with us about his upbringing in Vancouver and how his experiences working in his family-owned restaurant helped shape him to who he is now. We also chatted about dealing with things in our control vs. things outside of our controls and share how we overcame some of failures. We also talk a little bit about what we've learned while recruiting in tech.

    First-Generation UC Berkeley Student Jose Emanuel Cisneros' Remarkable Life Journey

    Welcome to our seventh episode!  

    Our special guest for this episode is our good friend Jose Emanuel Cisneros.  Jose is currently a third-year and first-generation UC Berkeley student studying Sociology and Media Studies. He currently serves a number of roles as part of the La Unidad Latina, Lambda Upsilon Lambda Fraternity as the Marketing Director, Social Media Manager, and Manager. Previously during his summers, he has served as a USC TRiO Upward Bound Math and Science Academic Mentor and University of Southern California Residential Advisor where he helped 100+ students navigate the complexities of college as well as helped students find academic success at college. Previously, he has worked as a Student Assistant for UC Berkeley where he helped balance the budget for a residence hall as well as helped coordinate and resolve 300+ maintenance issues, 900+ equipment replacement requests, and 300+ damaged inventory cases.  

    We talk about Jose's upbringing in Southern California where he was raised by his mom and grew up with 5 sisters and how that helped shape who he is now. We also talk about the importance of asking for help and managing your personal finance!

    Welcome to our sixth episode!  

    Brian is currently a Master's student and Machine Learning Researcher at UC Berkeley where he studies Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He recently graduated from UC Berkeley where he graduated with the highest distinction and majored in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, and Statistics. During college he played an active role in the Student Association for Applied Statistics where he served various roles such as a data science consultant and a senior advisor. Throughout college, Brain also interned as an Algorithm Developer Intern at Hudson River Trading, a Software Development Engineer Intern at Amazon, and an Applied Statistics Research Intern at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory.    



    In this episode we talk about Brian's machine learning research on hypersonic vehicle simulations and DNA sequencing, how to avoid burnout, and more!
