Sam Peterson is an accomplished business leader and former explosive ordnance disposal technician in the Army. After deploying three times to Afghanistan, Sam Peterson suffered from traumatic brain injury and the mental health struggle that comes with it. Because of it, he almost took his life; he was one text message away from doing so. Witnessing the mental health struggles of his fellow service members, and surviving from his own, Sam developed a passion for improving the mental health system. Today we dive into how everyone can fight the battle of mental health.

Author and past podcast guest, Jordan Grumet, noticed that people die the way they lived, meaning if they lived an abundant life with joy, they died with an abundant and joyful heart, and if they lived in anger, anxiety and fear, they died with that same outlook.
We must be intentional about how we are living NOW, so we can die a well-lived life. Compounding interest happens for your life, just like it does for your money.

As a Navy Seal and Green Beret, Kevin Seiff and Greg VanDyne know what it’s like to operate in a high-performing environment, but when they left the military there was a major sense of loss after hanging up the uniform. Terms like mission, purpose, and community fell by the wayside, as it does for most every other military veteran if they are not intentional about seeking those out. Because of this known void, they decided to build a community around entrepreneurship, called Vet Collective.
Vet Collective is a community of veterans who are on a mission to become entrepreneurs. They share their experiences, insights, and resources to help each other achieve more, faster.

342. Loaded Down with Luggage: Real Talk
Men tend to be singularly focused: "I'd like to have sex with my wife" (carry one suitcase at a time).
Women tend to have multiple focuses: "what do I make for breakfast, do we have enough milk, should I make a Dr. appointment for my son because he said his ear hurts, are the dishes dirty in the dishwasher, did I wash my daughter's gymnastics uniform, did I RSVP for the school play, how far behind am I in my Bible study that I volunteered to lead, should I call my friend who's having a tough time in her divorce (carry multiple suitcases).
Maybe it's time to for the man to carry more of the luggage.
