WWJD - Kids: The Sandlot (1993)

So one of the greatest World Series in history just finished up and i'm sure some of you are still needing a baseball fix, well we were too!  This week Jason and Mike went to the 90's baseball classic "The Sandlot".  This movie raises a lot of interesting questions:

Is it okay to do a close up on 16yr old Wendy Preffercorn's tush?

Is the Sultan of Swat really the baseball fixture that he used to be?

Also is there a more iconic use of the word "Forever"?

Check out the episode to find these answers and determine whether or not this holds up on the latest episode of We Were Just Dumb!

WWJD - Kids: Rumble In The Bronx (1995)

WWJD - Kids: Rumble In The Bronx (1995)

In honor of the release of Jackie Chan's new film "The Foreigner" Jason and Mike decided to go back to their first introduction to the unique styling of Jackie Chan.  In his first film to be developed to appeal to a western audience America got it's first taste of the quirky, goofy, action packed and all around fun movies that Chan had been putting out overseas for years.  When we were kids martial arts were king but we had only been exposed to the slow and simple versions of this in movies like The Karate Kid and Roadhouse, so you gotta wonder, would Rumble In The Bronx still have that wow! factor as we are adults? Listen and find out!

    WWJD - Kids: Aladdin (1992)

So at this point we've all heard (unfortunately) that there is a new Aladdin movie coming out, without the comedy and without the music.  Terrible.  So this week Jason and Mike decided to go back and watch THE ONE AND ONLY TRUE ALADDIN to see how it held up.  In this classic movie, its Robin Williams vs Gilbert Godfried battling it out for the true love of their masters!  All jokes aside it was great and sad at the same time to see Robin Williams and all his talent at work.  Did our little boy nostalgia bleed all over this movie and cloud our judgement or is it really as good as we remember?  Listen to find out!

    WWJD - Kids: Thundercats (1985-1989)

    WWJD - Kids: Thundercats (1985-1989)

I'll put it this way, did you ever see the disaster of a film that was M Night Shyamalan's attempt at a blockbuster? You know the one i'm talking about?  The one with nothing but dialogue and exposition and lifeless characters and very little action?  Well imagine that, but in a cartoon show.  This week Jason and Mike went back to some of their earliest memories to watch, what for some reason was a huge cultural hit with boys in the late 80's and early 90's, Thundercats.  Once they woke up from falling asleep trying to get through the episodes they decided to voice their opinions, give it a listen:

    WWJD - Kids: Gargoyles (1994-1996)

    WWJD - Kids: Gargoyles (1994-1996)

Is Keith David's voice the greatest voice in cinematic history?  This week Jason and Mike went back through a deeper and darker cartoon series from the 90's in Gargoyles.  Keith David along with the recurring vocal talents of most of the cast of Star Trek TNG make up the characters in this lesser known show.  Is quality voice over work enough to propel this cartoon to a high rating?  Give this episode a listen and find out!
