Why ESL teachers are important? ‪‬ Teaching Online English Podcast

    • Language Learning

Recently, Irene Colthurst ventured on a relaxing trip to sunny Puerto Rico while sharing and teaching her passion for the English language to her eager students. With a unique capability than most, she tuned her limitations into her strength. After doing plenty of research on the fun ESL profession, she was inspired by others' footsteps. She took on a similar path in improving the world by helping individuals with their communication development as an educator.

Straight out of college, there were odds against her and she turned those impossible scenarios into possible opportunities that awaited her. She jumped on the bandwagon of teaching ESL and she has been fulfilling the minds and hearts of her students with fruitful and enjoyable conversations and lessons in her classroom. She is multitalented being involved in many passionate projects that fulfill her heart and that help others. She is a knowledgeable reviewer of historical fiction novels and a writer as one of many of her hobbies.

Perk up your ears for today's show:

🔱 Want to get your student actively talking comfortably in full sentences at the beginning of your sessions? Try one of Irene's favorite lessons in your classes.

🔱 What is the Historical Novel Society? How do become a reviewer yourself? Check it out here to learn more.

🔱 Knowing yourself is a very important attribute of being an  ESL/ language teacher and why? Learn how to conduct that self-analysis.

🔱 Irene received this quote from TED talks — which are very amazing, by the way! A useful quote to incorporate in your classroom with your students that has been helpful for Irene " Learner should be learning a language and beginning to use it like a video game".  How to use this in the mantra in your classes.
