The Cornell Media Guild is a media corporation located in Ithaca, NY, owned and operated by students from Cornell University. James (Jim) Schoonmaker: The Launch of Two International News Networks
Jim Schoonmaker's record is one few people can match. In addition to his various posts at WVBR, Jim also contributed to the startup of two international news networks (CNN and Alhurra) in his professional career. Outside of WVBR, Jim might've been the first Cornellian to learn about the biz through an opportunity with the International Radio and Television Society (IRTS). Jim is a regular face at Guild reunions, and he has one call-to-action to other fellow alumni.
