Foreigners and Strangers Justin Reilmann

"Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone." Ephesians 2:19-20 -- We may not be foreigners and strangers in God's Kingdom, but Peter describes the Christians as "foreigners and exiles" as we live in the world (1 Peter 2:11-12). Though this world isn't our home, God has placed us here for a reason. This podcast is all about discovering where Christians fit within the modern scope of society... how we can be in the world, but not of the world. Extra note on the pronoun translations in verses 8-9: The Greek actually uses a different word than the typical masculine pronoun, and the author uses one that is more specific to an individual (which is why translations like NASB and ESV translate "Namely, Jesus"). This doesn't alter the conclusion I came to in this episode, but it's very interesting. -
