Remain In Him
Who is the Antichrist? When will he come? What will he look like? Is he alive today? How do I know I will not follow him by mistake?
According to the Apostle John, we are led astray by overthinking answers to questions we are not privileged to know. What matters most is for the believer to remain in Jesus – stay with Jesus – keep their eyes fixed on Jesus. All too often in our world, people are more concerned about the Antichrist than Christ – they want to point out every false teacher coming rather than praise the One who already came.
This weekend, we continue our sermons series through the letters of the Apostle John by looking at 1 John 2:18-27. And, although there are false teachers – antichrists who oppose Jesus, John argues that if we remain in Jesus, we will not need to worry about being carried away from Jesus. -
A Double Life
Welcome to 1 John 2:12-17! These next verses in our study of 1 John unearth the truth about living a double life. They begin with a beautiful description of the life that God gives us in Christ, but they end with a warning. It’s a strong, sobering warning to Christians to flee from the temptation to live a double life in this world. What is a double life? It is a life lived in love with “the world or anything in the world” (1 John 2:15). Join me this weekend as we discover what “world” God is talking about and then explore how we should live in this world!

Love/Hate Relationship
Last weekend, Pastor Paul taught from 1 John 2:3-6 that obedience, not results, makes the difference in the Christian life. Obedience is evidence of a life changed by Christ – doing what God says we should do. In 1 John 2:7-11, John zeroes in on that one command which he, and Jesus, consider the greatest command – the command to love.
This weekend, we will do a deep dive into what it means to love one another. In the process, we will learn how to avoid the temptation to hate and how to escape from hateful thoughts and attitudes.. -
Obedience
Sometimes, the end seems to justify the means in a world motivated by results. Sometimes, believers can ignore sin as long the results appear positive. Not so, John writes, in 1 John 2:3-6. Join us this weekend as we continue our sermon series in the book of 1 John and discover that obedience, not results, makes a difference.

1, 2, & 3 John - Jesus our Sacrifice
This weekend, we will dig into 1 John 2:1-2. As you read these verses to prepare for worship, consider this: God traded places with us when He sent His only Son to die on a cross for our sins. God turned his wrath in punishment toward himself so he could turn his mercy in forgiveness toward us! This is amazing love!
