Carl Wilkens, an American humanitarian, demonstrated extraordinary courage and compassion during the Rwandan genocide in 1994. While many foreigners evacuated, Wilkens, a husband and father of three, chose to remain, determined to fulfill his commitment to the Rwandan people.
