What is your greatest fear---I can't answer that for you but I can show you a few things in a prayer by Habakkuk. His greatest fear was not his circumstances, which, by the way, were very dark and dreadful. God had just told him his nation was about to go into judgment and He was going to use an evil nation to take them captive.-Yet Habakkuk's greatest fear was that God would be glorified in His purpose and plan for the nation of Israel.-Perhaps we could learn a lesson or two from this mighty prayer by a prophet in the old testament.

Habakkuk wanted to know the same question and realized that God would reveal some things to him but some things were to remain hidden. In fact, there are many things related to God's will that we will not ever understand. Why is there suffering by believers in this world or why do Christians have to get cancer and die-- We might never understand God's ways but we must have faith in Him. You see the object of our faith is Christ -Himself- and not what we would like Him to do for us.

This prophet had basically 2 problems . The first one is that Israel was in sin and had rejected God and the second on is God answered his prayer with a most confusing answer that must have stopped him in his tracks. Did he pray to God with an anticipated answer-- I believe that he prayed with an answer in mind , and was praying for God to fix the things that were wrong with his people the way he wanted it fixed. But of course, God is going to answer according to His good pleasure. Isaiah 55-8-11

This passage ends not only the book of Revelation but the canon of scripture, the Bible. It just seems fitting that a warning is attached which is from Jesus Himself and an invitation for Him to come quickly.

In this passage we read that we are to live in light of His return. That is we are to live as though He could come at any moment and that for this generation would be the rapture of the church.
