    Ep.07 - Universal Language Part 3 - Education

    Ep.07 - Universal Language Part 3 - Education

Education is not 1 Dimensional anymore! IQ and intelligence alone cannot make you successful nor feel fulfilled anymore. Contemporary definition of education = high paying job = success. I challenge this simplified view of success with the necessity of high EQ with a new definition of success by the necessity of emotional and social education. My personal views on the negative life-long impacts of emotionally underdeveloped parents to relatively emotionally developed children in today's norms.

    Ep.06 - Universal Language Part 2 - Healthcare

    Ep.06 - Universal Language Part 2 - Healthcare

In this episode, I discuss Healthcare as a universal language. I define what healthcare means for myself and as well as the world health organization's definition. I compare and contrast the different types of healthcare systems in both American and South Korean, how they impact their patients as well as the costs of each and how they fit into my definition of healthcare. By no means this is a political discussion, but an informative one.

    Ep.05 - Universal Language Part 1 - Music

    Ep.05 - Universal Language Part 1 - Music

In this episode, I talk about music as an universal language. I believe music is an universal language because it has the ability to bring people together with a sense of belonging despite the differences. Music has patterns in which may attribute to the dopaminergic effects to the listeners like complete cadences. Although I realize the importance of patterns, I personally prefer the incomplete cadences due to the novelty aspect to it, like Jazz and Classical music.

This is a great episode! Filled with passion and an inquisitive mind, I go into my personal take on music.

Hope you guys enjoy this one!!

Ep.04 - Filial Piety vs Individualistic Happiness; My Personal Take On Cultural Differences

In this short episode, I talk about the effects of filial piety on 1.5 & 2nd generation children and how it affects their individuality. Can filial piety reach too much to the lives of children and negatively affect their self-assurance?

Ep.03 - The Effects of Language On Self-Confidence In Relation To Vygotsky's Cognitive Theory

Ep.03 - The Effects of Language On Self-Confidence In Relation To Vygotsky's Cognitive Theory

In this episode, I compare and contrast the effects of Korean and American English and how each language affect a person's zone of proximal development in Lev Vygotsky's theory of cognitive development. Vygotsky argues that cognitive development is limited at any age range and in order to acquire a fuller cognitive development, social interaction is necessary. This in turn increases one's ability to handle mental or physical tasks in the zone of proximal development. This zone is where an individual increases their skills and tasks with the help of the more knowledgeable other.

I talk about my opinions on the effects of language, particularly Korean and English, on the thickness of these zones of proximal development.

Ep.02 - The Effects of Culture On Self-Identity In Relation to Erikson's Development Theory

Ep.02 - The Effects of Culture On Self-Identity In Relation to Erikson's Development Theory

In this episode, I talk about Erik Erikson's social cognitive development theory in relation to development of children and how they grow up to be certain adult versions. I compare different teaching styles between Korean and American cultures and my personal experiences with parts of the theory like "Trust vs Mistrust" and "Identity vs Confusion."
