North Shore Nine: A Pittsburgh Pirates Podcast Bleav Baseball

It was another nice week for the Pirates as the took the series from the Braves and ended the week 3-3. Unfortunately, the injury bug looks like it took a hit and not only is Yasmani Grandal's groin bothering him but now Joey Bart was removed from yesterday game with a thumb injury. Anthony Murphy from Bucs On Deck joins us to talk the Pirates farm. Who are his two hitters and pitchers this week to highlight? Lastly, we take a look at this upcoming 2-game series vs the Tigers in Detroit.

Jim and Tyler discuss Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Braves. Ronald Acuña Jr., Martin Perez, and Joey Bart all left the game early with injuries as the Braves smoked the Pirates 8-1 in the final game of this weekend's series.

Jim and DiNardo discuss Saturday's Pirates game vs the Atlanta Braves where Mitch Keller pitched another quality start now totalling just 4 earned runs in his last 27.2 Innings Pitched. The offense did enough to give Reynaldo Lopez the loss. Today's game marked just the second time a team scored more than 3 runs off Lopez. David Bednar came into the 9th inning to earn his 11th save of the season.

Jim and Neil discuss the Pirates game vs the Atlanta Braves. Bailey Falter pitched 7 1/3 strong innings and Nick Gonzales picked up 4 RBI as the Pirates jumped on the Braves early and held on for an 11-5 win in the series opener.

Tonight we are joined by Noah Hiles of the Pittsburgh Post Gazette to figure out what is wrong with the Pittsburgh Pirates (again). As the hitting disappeared, the pitching was fantastic for this team. Now the hitting is stringing along and the Pirates cannot hold a lead.
