Omnibus Law: Giving The Devil His Due‪!‬ Valet Amandum Podcast

    • Personal Journals

Hello Worthy Lovers, welcome back to Valet Amandum Podcast with your host Yega. In today's episode, we're going to have a conversation about Omnibus Law with my good friend Athar. It is in my deep interest to steel man that bill, and to give credit where credit due. Because I'm beginning to feel a little bit tired from hearing people's comments that only straw man the bill. John Stuart Mill talks about this in his book On Liberty, "He who knows only his own side of the case, knows little of that. His reasons may be good, and no one may have been able to refute them. But if he is equally unable to refute the reasons on the opposite side; if he does not so much as know what they are, he has no ground for preferring either opinion."

And so there are 3 things that we're gonna talk about. The teleology of this bill, the pros and cons, and the dynamics of the discussion that we have regarding this bill. Athar tells me to give you a disclaimer that at the time of this podcast, he just woke up from his nap. However, let me assure you that the ideas we're going to propose in this episode are far from boring or even gullible.

Perhaps, my only apologies to you guys are about the sound quality. Athar's headset is broken so sometimes you'll hear my sound echoing when I talk, and that's about it. Hope you enjoy this episode!
