Aparna Ramesh has secured All India Rank 35 in the UPSC Civil Services Examination 2020. Her optional subject was anthropology.

She hails from Bengaluru, Karnataka and presently resides in Gurugram, Haryana. She completed her undergraduate degree in Architecture from Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur in 2015 and her post-graduate degree in Urban Planning from CEPT University, Ahmedabad in 2019.

Aparna enjoys writing about important social issues and she was won many prizes for her work. As an undergraduate, she won the Berkeley Undergraduate Prize for Architectural Design Excellence, 2014. She has also been awarded the Wipro Earthian Prize in both 2017 and 2018 by the Azim Premji Foundation.

In 2020-21, she was selected for the prestigious India Smart Cities Fellowship, Smart Cities Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India. During her time at the Fellowship, Aparna worked with Faridabad Smart City to conceive and build a prototype for Mobility DataSpace - a unified data management ecosystem for urban mobility data.

In her free time, Aparna enjoys reading non-fiction, practising yoga and exploring cities.

As designers, we realised the gap in mediums of outreach especially in our industry with one-sided conversations. This creates a huge impact on the viewers watching it and following a set pattern. Our intention is to break that and create a flow of fresh thoughts by sharing stories of the people who are levelling the gap and creating impact!
