S2E1 Mac Maistrelli Learner Journeys

    • Education

In this Episode of Learner Journeys, Bastian speaks with Mac Maistrelli.

Mac has been working on leadership and organisational development for all of his life in various capacities (from youth leader in a local NGO to director in the board of a large company). A scientist by training and an educator by choice, he's currently working with a team of amazing engineers that he feels very fortunate to serve as their manager.

Mac and Bastian speak about how we can look at management and leadership through the prism of facilitation; how openness and vulnerability lead to trust and how trust enables productive conflict that brings everyone ahead.

One of the ideas or frameworks Mac referenced in the conversation was the "5 dysfunctions of a team" model.  He suggested this video for a light-hearted and yet profound introduction to it: https://youtu.be/O5EQW026alY (36 mins, by the creator of the model, Patrick Lencioni).

If you want to get in touch with him, you can reach out to him on LinkedIn (https://www.linkedin.com/in/macmaistrelli/)
