UC001 - Loss of the Professional Identity
The Profession of Arms is particularly hard on one’s identity. A volunteer, dedicated to preserving the freedoms we enjoy, does not simply “go to work”. These Sheepdogs build their identity around the sacrifices they make to uphold an oath that, to some, is biblical in stature. But what do these warriors do when they can no longer take the fight to the enemy? How does one build such a steadfast and righteous identity, only to have to give it up, whether by choice or by force? In short - one must mourn the loss of the old identity, and usher in a new one - yet maintain that warrior spirit.
