105. Are you Over It? How to Best Release Emotions The Midlife Connection for WMN

    • ハウツー

Ep 105 Are you over it? How do you know? This solocast gets a little personal as I share my perspective on “Deal with it,” “Get Over it,” and Suck it up, buttercup.” These are the common phrases we hear or tell ourselves and it made me wonder, is this a good thing?
When Bessel van der Kolk wrote The Body Keeps the Score, the research shows that our body and cells hold onto deep emotional wounds. But, far too often, we stuff it all down. What happens then? Illness, disease, and pain - all the ways our body communicates with us.
Recently, I experienced a DEEP emotional (Somato-Emotional, Body, Mind) release with a trusted Craniosacral Therapist from the Upledger Institute. This is a therapy modality of soft-tissue release that I have also practiced for almost 20 years.
Be sure to ask your therapist when they last sought a treatment session. A skilled therapist will tell you that they are also committed to receiving treatments too. The giver needs to also release and re-balance themselves.
What are you holding onto and is it serving your body, mind, and life?
Is it better to get over it, or to shift into feeling and processing the emotion?
