15: How My Miscarriage Healed My Birth Trauma// Finding closure for my birth trauma & what it is REALLY like to lose a baby at 12 weeks. A detailed account of what my doctor didn't prepare me for‪.‬ An Authentic Life with Miranda Partridge

On the 12th April 2021 - my 34th birthday - when the New Moon was exact, I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks. My baby was due on 31st October.

This was my first miscarriage and my second pregnancy, and was honestly a really healing experience for me after the traumatic birth of my son. I wanted to share my story for 2 reasons;

Because I don't see many accounts of miscarriage that reflect my own, so I wanted to provide a space for anyone who felt the same without invalidating the experiences of others
Because before I had a miscarriage, I really didn't know what to expect would happen. My doctor told me it would be like a heavy period (newsflash: it wasn't). So this is the kind of information I would have been grateful to have my hands on.

I hope that if you choose to listen to it, it helps you in some way, but warning that some may find the content triggering.

This podcast is a very detailed account of my story, so if discussion of blood, cervical mucous or poo is too much, this may not be the episode for you, as I didn't hold anything back.
