    Episode 731 - Saka Signs

    Episode 731 - Saka Signs

In this week's show I chat to Kaya Kaynak about Bukayo Saka signing his new contract, the fact that he has earned his big wage increase, and the message it sends when Arsenal retain their best players ahead of a summer when they want to improve the squad. We also chat about the importance of selling well this summer, the possibility that Sunday could be Granit Xhaka's final game for the club, the pursuit of Declan Rice and why dealing with other clubs being interested is a fact of life, and Mikel Arteta's interesting comments about the season and psychology.

    Arsecast Extra Episode 527 - 22.05.2023

In this episode, we discuss the 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Saturday, a game which provoked very distinct reactions in each of us. We chat about Mikel Arteta's team selection and the unconventional back four, the sterility of the performance in which we had 82% possession but created almost nothing, the psychological aspects that might have been at play, the lack of impact from the bench, and what not being used probably means for Emile Smith Rowe. Then we answer listener questions about signing a striker and using Gabriel Jesus as a wide man, defensive recruitment, being linked with more Man City players, the perception of Arsenal to potential new signings, and lots more.

    Arsecast Extra Episode 526 - 15.05.2023

    Arsecast Extra Episode 526 - 15.05.2023

In this episode, we discuss the 3-0 defeat to Brighton on Sunday. If the first half was relatively even, the second certainly was not, and we chat about missed opportunities in the first 45 and a lack of reaction after we went behind. Mikel Arteta's substitutions come in for some scrutiny, as do his post-game comments which clearly came from a place of frustration. Was he justified? We also talk about the absence of Oleksandr Zinchenko, and the final nails going into the coffin of our title challenge, before answering listener questions about the impact of Man City's win over Everton, the need for something different up front next season, potential departures from the first team squad, fans leaving early, Bukayo Saka, William Saliba's contract, and lots more.

Episode 729 - Deals and more deals

Episode 729 - Deals and more deals

In this week's show I chat to Nick Wright of Sky Sports about Arsenal's return to the Champions League next season, the challenges we'll face, and how it will change the dynamic of the squad. We also talk about imminent contract renewals for Bukayo Saka and Aaron Ramsdale amongst others ahead of summer recruitment which will need the club to be mindful of how big money arrivals might impact the wage bill, as well as some focus on Martin Odegaard and Granit Xhaka.
There's also a competition to win a Bukayo Saka t-shirt from our friends at A Store Like 94 - https://www.astorelike94.co.uk

    Arsecast Extra Episode 525 - 08.05.2023

    Arsecast Extra Episode 525 - 08.05.2023

In this episode, we discuss the 2-0 win over Newcastle at St James' Park. There's praise for Arsenal's game management and ability to stand up the home side's physical approach, not least because of the lack of refereeing intervention. We chat about the team selection, the decision to go with Jorginho in midfield, Martin Odegaard's contribution, missed chances, big saves from Aaron Ramsdale, Granit Xhaka's incredible defensive intervention and Spanish swearing, and keeping the pressure on Man City. Then we answer listener questions about Jakub Kiwior, the time-wasting/shithousery aspect of the performance, adding experience to the youthful aspects of the team, Kieran Tierney's impressive cameo, and lots more, including magpie facts.

Excellent content for Arsenal fans

New follower of Arsenal men’s and women’s teams from Japan.

These podcasts are excellent content, in-depth yet objective previews and analyses of games, together with the arseblog.com articles.

Especially the women’s team analysis by Tim Stillman far surpasses anything else I can find elsewhere, it’s absolutely the best! Thanks for the great content. Go Arsenal!

Like AA for Arsenal afflicted humans

Every year I try to give up Arsenal. Always I come back to them, like Tammy Wynette, swearing they'll change. In the meantime, these boys help me get through the week.

Great

So funny and so much info and insight.
I listen to them for learning a kind of 'broken' English.
