Save a tree, don't move to Germany! –with Zozan

In this episode we interview Zozan, a Kurdish/Turkish masters student at FU, in Berlin. We lament the trees that might be saved if Germany would just let go of it's obsession with printed documents and go digital! And we talk about some of the ways a Turkish visa application process is unique!

    City of Spätis

    City of Spätis

In this minisode, we take a break from bureaucracy and talk about that other thing Berlin has in abundance; Spätis. Is there a correlation between the abundance of bureaucracy in Berlin and the Späti culture? You be the judge. This is an outtake from the interview we released last week with Javi– in it, he shares more than his opinion on the best Spätis around, he also imparts the origin story behind everyone's favorite Berlin Mexican Restaurant.

We'll be posting the Späti map on social media but if you can also find it on our website at, https://berlinpodcast.com/donate

Who are you calling an expat?

This minisode is a part of the interview with Zozan, a Kurdish/Turkish sociology student. In it, hosts Bridget and Aleks and interviewee Zozan stray from the main topic of German-Turkish bureaucratic conundrums to attempt a clarification of some recurring labels like “migrant” ”immigrant” and “expat” and differences in their German and English usage.
