Ep. 004 - "Yes And" with Shaina Schneider (the wife)
Do you ever feel stuck? Unable to know what to say?
In this talk with my beautiful bride (@shainamelei), we talk about the #1 fundamental element of improv and how this simple (yet effective) exercise will help you have something to say no matter what situation you're in. Try it out!
"Yes, And" works like this:
Me: (I say a statement) "I love the park."
You: (Accept the statement by saying "yes") "Yes, you love the park" (Add information by saying "and") "and I'm happy."
Me: (Accept the last statement by saying "yes") "Yes, you're happy" (add information by saying "and") "and that's because I was hit with a frisbee."
You: "Yes, you were hit with a frisbee and your head is bleeding."
Me: "Yes, my head is bleeding and I'm starting to lose consciousness."
You: "Yes, you're losing consciousness and it's not pretty to watch."
You get the idea! ;)
