Ep. 7 Getting Prepared For A Weekend - PCO Resources

Ep. 7 Getting Prepared For A Weekend - PCO Resources

    Getting prepared for the weekend:

    Resources in PCO

    Lyrics
    Chords
REF Track (for vocalists or instruments to try part without hearing their own)
    Upmixes (to hear individual parts)
Service order (to think of transitions ahead of time)
    Anything else?

What is PCO? - platform for all things related to weekend services
Why do we use it? - keeps everyone on the same page on what needs to be prepared, all resources in one place
How does PCO help me to prepare for the weekend?

access to all resources listed above to prepare for service as a whole
    upmix tracks

what are they and why do i need to listen to them? - for listening to individual parts, need to know your own parts so you can come together as a band with excellence

why are there only 2 guitar up mix tracks when there are 5 in the song? - many guitar tracks are more to create specific effects, and don’t translate well for one to play live on a weekend (what needs to be executed live vs what not)

discuss expectations on learning parts of the song

    REDEFINE WHAT REHEARSAL IS

NOT the time for you to learn your part
Should have your part at 90-95%for rehearsal
Rehearsal is where you take your already prepared parts and put them together to see what changes are needed in order to blend as a band
am i expected to learn it exactly? - all based on context (what’s the focus of that song or section of a song?)
what are some key aspects of the parts we should focus on?

go through general instruments on the weekend
    Keys/Guitars

    lead parts
    voicings

    Drums
    Bass
    Vocals
