As a child, Sara Gibbs always felt as though everyone in her life was speaking a different language. She felt different to other children and was given various labels such as cry baby and spoilt child by those around her, who felt she was just being difficult or attention seeking. It wasn’t until she was diagnosed with autism at the age of 30 that it all began to make sense.

Sara Gibbs is now a successful comedy writer for TV and radio and is the author of a new book, Drama Queen, which is an honest portrayal of her experience of growing up as an autistic child and how that’s shaped her life into adulthood.

We’ll be talking about how society treats autistic people and what it’s like to discover that you’re autistic as an adult. On with the show…
