Katy Rexing

Welcome to Within, a space for women allowing themselves to simply be. Hosted by wife, mother and mindfulness mentor, Katy Rexing, this show reimagines the unrealistic standards that keep us from our truest nature. Here, we unravel the programming that taught us things like perfection, shame and overwhelm and settle into our deepest knowing and self trust. Each week, Katy will be joined by thought leaders and experts who are choosing to unravel the belief about how and what a woman should be and instead are coming home to themselves. We’ll share raw, real conversations around trying to live mindfully, aging, sobriety, current wellness culture, and what it really means to be a woman in today’s day and age.

“We are all just toddlers, but taller.” - Beatriz Victoria Albina Somatic therapy is something that I’ve been really intrigued about in my own life, and before this conversation I didn’t quite understand it. My new friend Beatriz Victoria Albina has changed that. In today’s episode she’ll beautifully explain what somatic therapy is, and how it can help those of us who were socialized in ways that created perfectionist, co-dependent or people pleasing habits so that we can live life in a way that is kinder to our nervous systems.   Beatriz Victoria Albina is a Master Certified Somatic Life Coach, Nurse Practitioner, and has a Masters in Public Health. She is the host of the Feminist Wellness Podcast. Her new book, End Emotional Outsourcing: How to Overcome Codependent, Perfectionist and People Pleasing Habits comes out in September!  Today on WithIn:  How Béa’s work came to include a whole self approach, including functional medicine, the somatic nervous system and life coaching  Why you should make the shift from labeling triggers as ‘core wounds’ to ‘core wisdom’  How to ‘orient and ground’ in moments of trigger using somatic exercises  The importance of feeling your ‘sacred anger’  What is emotional outsourcing?  Beatriz has a special gift for listeners of this episode!
