Exmormonology is a podcast created to help you work through your faith crisis out of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, AKA The Mormons. Leaving high demand religion is most likely one of the hardest things you will ever do and takes longer than you think it will.

My faith crisis began in 2006 and back in the day there was not a huge wonderful exmormon community that there is today. I felt very alone, especially as a woman. I did not see any women creating content that I needed at that time. So, once I got on my feet under me, after a free fall that seemed to last for a very long time, I decided to be a public face for other women who where struggling just like I was. In 2012 I started a YouTube channel, where my old videos still call home. In the early days I called myself Soul Searching Girl, on YouTube.

Exmormonology began in 2019.

I am a certified life coach and I have helped hundreds of transitioning mormons leaving the fold.

I hope this podcast helps you through your soul searching days. You are going to be okay. It is going to be hard and heartbreaking, but you will make it through. Use the coaching tools that I share here on the podcast to help you heal and move on from the church.

You are an amazingly brave wildflower and I am here to watch you find out just what you were made for. (I heart Barbie)

If you would like to work with me in a coaching relationship, reach out. I am still taking clients and I would love to help you.

The Exmormon Bubble, LGBTQIA+, a convo with James Rhodimer

The Exmormon Bubble, LGBTQIA+, a convo with James Rhodimer

Have you ever had a conversation with a stranger that ignited a sparked your brain? This happened this morning as Jim and I were having breakfast at a cafe in Provo Utah, we happened to have an amazing conversation with someone else who was doing what we were doing, eating. I share that conversation with you today. I invited James to join me today on the podcast because, well, he was there and we ended up having our own several hour conversation that was started by this happenstance meeting today with a stranger. We also discuss what we think is the exmormon echo chamber and the Barbie movie. I would love to hear your thoughts too.

    Triggered Scrupulosity

    Triggered Scrupulosity

Let's dive into religious scrupulosity and the Doug Fabrizio's Radio West Episode last week. Radio West is a Salt Lake City radio/podcast show. I was a bit triggered by a few things said by a guest on last weeks show and I want to talk about it, what it means and what it may mean to you. Working your way out of religious scrupulosity is possible. For many it stops the minute your religious beliefs dissipate, for others it may take years to unravel. Either way, I want to talk about what is happening for those of us who tend towards the scrupulous ways of religiously believing, even when we did not know it was a thing that was happening to and within us.

    Affirmations Are BS

    Affirmations Are BS

Wildflower, you have a life to live and a brain to guide you to whatever it is you desire. On The Unorthodox Woman Podcast, I show you how to do just that, be your own brain guide. While I know that the title of this episode may sound like I want to take on the whole affirmation community (if that is a thing), that is not the case. I do believe there is a missing step in the process of how we have been taught to do affirmations. So, this week, I want to teach you the missing piece and speed up the process of getting you to what you want to believe about yourself. This way you get to where you want to go with your life a whole lot quicker! If nothing else, you get to the beliefs you want to believe in a more holistic, moving way, sustainable way.

Obsessed with Televangelist & Shiny Happy People? Let's talk about why.

Obsessed with Televangelist & Shiny Happy People? Let's talk about why.

You may be developing an obsession, or at minimum a fascination, with things like televangelists or Shiny Happy People. Me too! This week I dive into why that happens, what is happening in your brain when you watch and how this is an important part of your healing. I also address the "script" used by most of the religious people in your life when you share the news that you are leaving your religion. It is the script that show that the indoctrination is working. Let's talk! I have so much to share with you this week.

    Focus: The Struggle Is Real

    Focus: The Struggle Is Real

It was the summer of 1990, shortly after I was married, when my husband and I embarked on a journey to Flaming Gorge Lodge (in Utah) where we would work for the summer saving for college tuition. I worked as a waitress at the diner. In this week's episode of The Unorthodox Woman, I recount a remarkable encounter with a charming lady who happened to be working alongside me. While I can't recall her exact age or even remember her name, she appeared to be in her late 60s or maybe even 70s. (as a 20-year-old, she seemed "old" to me at the time.) Little did I know that she would impart a lesson that has stayed with me for over 30 years. It involves coffee, a beverage I was not allowed to drink as an active believing member of my church. I have a feeling this story will help you with whatever you are struggling with, as it has helped me with my own struggles throughout my life.
