Forgetting and forgiving in the Balkans Reflection Podcasts

As GAIA Kosovo is getting older, we want to use this as an opportunity to reflect on topics that we care about and deem important. Join us for this journey of ten episodes of our Reflection Podcasts, as we move from one guest to another, from one topic to another.

In this episode, Marijana Toma shares her opinion on the transitional justice process in the Balkans. Marijana Toma (Belgrade, Serbia) is a historian and a transitional justice practitioner. She is the manager of the Mapping and Curating Emergent Human Rights Defender (HRD) Protection Strategies project at the Center for Cultural Decontamination. She has worked on numerous transitional justice initiatives, regionally and internationally since 2002. She was the member and coordinator of the Expert group for drafting the mandate for the Regional Commission for Establishment of Facts about War Crimes in the former Yugoslavia between 1991-2001), and also worked in the International Centre for Transitional Justice  in Cape Town, South Africa.

GAIA Kosovo is the official Kosovan branch of Service Civil International, and a peace organization working in a field of peacebuilding, solidarity between people, social justice and environmental protection.
