This week, we have the opportunity to hear from Zoe Katz, a senior here at UofSC studying Marketing and Management, who will be speaking about her education abroad experience in Prague, Czech Republic. Zoe is joined by Kent Moore, a director of CIS, which is one of the Global Partner Providers that UofSC partners with to send students abroad. Zoe and Kent walk us through the Czech way of life, including studying in Prague, experiencing Eastern European culture, studying abroad alone during a global pandemic, and the countless life lessons that come out of these experiences. Today’s episode features Virginia Taylor, a senior studying Marketing and Finance. Taylor went abroad Spring of 2021 to Sevilla, Spain to become more fluent in Spanish and to learn the culture, people, and the country of Spain. The beautiful country of Spain is one of UofSC’s most popular destinations and our conversation with Virginia helps you understand why. Virginia speaks of the culture, food, living with a family, studying abroad through API, and her experience in Spain during the pandemic. Tune in to hear a first-hand experience in lovely Spain.

Today's episode features Meoshay Jefferson, a recent Political Science graduate who studied abroad in Jordan. She is a recipient of the Gilman Scholarship, a grant funded by the U.S. Department of State that enables students of limited financial means to study or intern abroad. The Gilman Scholarship Program aims to encourage underrepresented students to study and intern in a diverse array of countries or areas and world regions. It also encourages students to study languages, especially critical need languages (those deemed important to national security). Our conversation touches on how receiving the Gilman helped Meoshay study Arabic in the Middle East.
