1. Does my actual image (thoughts, intentions & motives) match the image I project?

2. Is there any hypocrisy in my life that I need to be cleansed from where I honor Him with my mouth but my heart is far from Him?

3. Living with the fear of God helps us keep in tune with our actual self which is what God sees. Pray that truth over one another.

1. In which area from the list below do I struggle with pleasing people, and how does this affect my life?
- I am preoccupied with what other people think about me.
- I have a hard time saying “No,” to people.
- I complain about being too busy.
- I am overly sensitive to criticism.
- I often avoid conflict and difficult decisions.

2. What is the root of the pain that drives me to find my value in people pleasing? Identify it and lay it down at the feet of Jesus.

3. How does having confidence in my sonship or daughterhood as a child of God change the way I live life? The way I interact with others? How I view myself?

Today, we look to the Word of God to see how we respond in hard times.

Discussion Questions:
1. In life, we often go through difficult or traumatic circumstances that can lead us to despair. How do you often respond to despair? Detachment, distraction, blame, or just muscle on through?
2. At the end of Habakkuk, we see Habakkuk make a choice: I WILL. I will worship MY Lord. I WILL celebrate in the God of my salvation. Where in your life do you need to make the choice to rejoice in the Lord today?
3. Pray over group members, rejoicing in the Lord and His faithfulness, despite current circumstances.
