    Everybody Ain't No Damn Narcissist

    Everybody Ain't No Damn Narcissist

Trifling is not synonymous with narcissism.

This week, we talk about the growing trend of identifying past partners as narcissists simply because they Baby Boy-ed us, and we let them. We discuss how this misidentifying is really a way to avoid accountability for both perceived "perpetrators" and "victims".

We also introduce a new segment called What Negroes Are Doing, courtesy of friend-of-the-show Elijah who shared that the Birmingham News used to have a column by the same name back in the day. In this segment, we'll share positive things black folks are doing in their communities. You can see the column in the paper for yourself here: https://bit.ly/2ZLRME4

It Ain't My Fault (Did I Do That?!)

Accountability is one of those things we say we want, but we don’t seem to truly understand.

This week, we discuss accountability - what it is, what it isn’t, what it looks like in action, and all the ways we fuck it up by strong-arming other folks into it. We also talk about the discussion around Dave Chappelle and the calls to hold him and Netflix accountable for his most recent standup special.

Where have we been? Chile, with Spongebob them. But don't worry, we on the up and up now!

This week, we pull the curtain back a little. We talk openly about our own mental health journeys, managing stress and trauma, and our experiences in therapy. We also talk about the varying definitions of friendship and what it looks like to build relationships on solid foundations versus trauma bonding.

    Who Said That?!

    Who Said That?!

As we’ve become more evolved as a people, there has been a noticeable shift in the language that we use to describe social and racial justice issues - and not just for the sake of honoring people’s experiences and allowing people to utilize language that feels truer to them. Language seems to be evolving past usability. With the shift and focus on language, we have to ask who is really behind this? Is it the actual marginalized communities behind the new language, or is it somebody else?! *rubs hands suspiciously*
