The Hero's Journey with Garrison Cohen

The Hero's Journey with Garrison Cohen

The Hero's Journey is a set of archetypal narratives found across human cultures, characterized by largely similar themes and plot elements. These include freeing oneself from the normal world, entering an unknown world (often to retrieve something or someone), overcoming challenges along the way, and returning to society with the boon. The journey often begins with a call to adventure, or a hero reluctant to follow it.

In this episode, we bring on Garrison Cohen to discuss his personal relationship and teachings regarding the Hero's Journey and how every person will go through it at some point in their lives, and how to find that essence and curiosity you cultivated as a child and express it as an adult. It is not something that happens once, but rather an ongoing process that helps the hero grow and build character.

Fight Right! Learning How to Fight Smarter in Relationships

Fight Right! Learning How to Fight Smarter in Relationships

Learn simple easy-to-apply tips to your relationships to help have constructive disagreements. There is one thread that we all have in common in relationships: We all fight and disagree!  All of us!, No relationship is immune to it.

We all argue, disagree, and get so frustrated with our partners that we want to scream at the top of our lungs from the highest mountain top.  The best relationships know how to fight correctly, WITHOUT leaving lasting scars!

Learn to 'fight right'! Instead of just fighting for your side, you have to be fighting for the relationship. If you want the marriage/relationship to thrive, you have to prioritize it during a fight. Fight in a more compromising way, without all the dirty techniques that might be tempting to use, like blaming the person for stuff they did years ago, or dragging out their faults because you're angry.

Craig Saloner - Mastering Relationships & Finances

Let’s brainstorm: what makes a good relationship?

Effective communication, compatibility, shared values, and good sex all come to mind.

But how about money management? It might not be as obvious, but the fact is that money is one of the most crucial factors in a romantic relationship. In fact, it’s the #1 thing that couples fight about it and the #2 reason they get divorced!

Building a solid financial foundation in a relationship can help set you up for success. And like anything worth doing, it takes some work! Money is both practical and emotional, and we must acknowledge both ways it impacts our relationships.

    Why Money Matters in Relationships

Money is a pervasive factor in our lives. It dominates our daily decision-making and has the power to dramatically influence the path we take. Since money is so important to daily life, it must be important in our relationships!

Here’s the problem: most of us were never taught how to be good with money.

Craig Saloner has been an entrepreneur and working with finances for over 20 years.  He brings his knowledge of finances and relationships to the podcast.  He is the creator of Finance4Couples and Empowered Wealth For Women.
