Pancreatic Cancer Aware Wales Welsh Wednesdays

    • 非営利

In this episode I’m joined by Ali, the CEO of Pancreatic Cancer Action, the only charity in the UK that focuses on improving survival rates for people with pancreatic cancer.

Only 7.3% of pancreatic cancer patients in the UK will survive 5 years after their diagnosis and in some areas of Wales, that number is as low as 3%. The 1-year survival rate for people in Swansea Bay is 21.5%. The 5-year survival rate is 3.8%. Though students may not think they are at risk, sadly they are. Pancreatic cancer does not discriminate when it comes to age and it can affect anyone at any stage in their life.

This epsiode coincides with the pancreatic cancer awareness campaign in Wales this June to try and improve these figures but we need your help in spreading the word. Share this podcast far and wide with your friends as you never know who you may help.
