A.Ron and Cecily are sharply divided on their opinions for the series shotgun finale, episode 309, “The Blessed Dark”.  A.Ron would have preferred a more open ended finale that didn’t try to make half-assed an attempt to bring the series to an epic and apocalyptic conclusion, while Cecily appreciates the creative jam the team was apparently other and is thankful that they made the best of the situation they had at hand.  Regardless of our personal feelings, this is the end for Showtime’s Penny Dreadful, and we the television watching public are the poorer for it.  What did you think?  We’ll be back next week to mourn our loss and ponder that what ifs with you and all our fellow fans as we wrap up our coverage of the series.  See you then.

A.Ron and Cecily break down the action in the rare (perhaps singular) Vanessa free episode of Showtime’s Penny Dreadful, “This World is Our Hell”.  Ethan is done with forgiveness, Rusk is done with genteel notions of rules of engagement and law enforcement in general, and Ethan’s father is done with his son’s stubborn refusal to atone for the sins of his bloody past.  Also, Kaetenay is sick of these mother @#$*ing snakes on his mother @#$*ing plains!
