Recently, the term “pinkwashing” has garnered attention in the context of Israel’s continuous genocide of the Palestinian people. This longer episode pulls from entire books, like Puar’s influential 2007 work, “Terrorist Assemblages: Homonationalism in Queer Times,” which has not yet been translated into Japanese. It is not a comprehensive overview but, offers Pirikara Queer’s understanding of concepts like “homonormativity” and “homonationalism” to unpack the roots of queer politics!
