Pracademically Speaking is a podcast intended to highlight innovations within the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (PA DOC). Each episode includes an interview with a national expert on a particular topic relevant to the field, and also an interview with a PA DOC staff member who is leading the way in doing something cutting edge or innovative within the department. The podcast is sponsored by the department’s I.D.E.A. initiative – Innovate, Develop, Experiment, Adapt. A primary goal of the podcast is to bring together thought leaders (academics, practitioners, and policymakers) to stimulate further thinking about how to solve real world problems within the field of corrections, by highlighting and communicating groundbreaking work that is already being done.
