Spotlight On: Moron Police. A Boat on the Sea (Repost from 2022)
I wanted to re-share our look at the 2019 album from Moron Police, A Boat on the Sea.
What started in my head as a bit of a novelty record has moved very quickly into my heart and is deserving of a spot in a list of my favourite records we've covered on the show so here's a rerun of that conversation I had with now 3rd chair of the show...Leon Bateman.

Rob is joined today by new regular guest, Leon Bateman to discuss the 2019 prog/rock/pop/synthy??? album from Moron Police, A Boat on the Sea.
It's really difficult to find the words to describe this completely unique album so please forgive our mindless musings. Hopefully our enthusiasm will compensate for a complete lack of critical understanding on just what is happening on this record. Like the record, this episode goes all over the place so strap in and enjoy the ride.

Spotlight on: Dookie (Repost from 2021)
In which our heroes talk s*** about the 1994 seminal album from Green Day; Dookie.
As it's 30 years old at the beginning of this month we thought it should be our Record of the Week for the first podcast of this year and we're taking the opportunity to re-post this episode from 2021 where a couple of inexperienced podcasters shout over each other about Dookie.
This is an album that's really important for Sam but certainly opened doors for Rob back in 1994 when he was still open to listening to stuff from outside of Seattle!
We discuss, among other things, the bands output over a nearly 30 year career, getting kids up on stage to play guitar and the concept of selling out. The whole "are Green Day punk?" question gets knocked about, we trace the music of Green Day through to the mid 2000's emo scene and Rob has a hot take attributing the albums mega sales to the premature death of Kurt Cobain.
Its a proper rambling bulls***ty kind of a podcast this one but isn't that the point.
