Requiem Metal Podcast- A heavy metal podcast for everyone

Requiem Metal podcast, hosted by Mark Rudolph and Jason Hundey, offers up metal music in a way suitable for experienced metal heads and listeners accessing the music for the first time. Mark and Jason have a passion for the genre. Both gentlemen have a long history with metal music that includes: writing a fanzine-which is where the podcast name originates, attending numerous shows, conducting interviews with band members as well as other metal music aficionados and creating four years worth of podcasts.

The show covers artists familiar to the casual metal listener (Judas Priest, Danzig, Anthrax) and the well-versed (Immortal, Bathory, Opeth). The music played is representative of the artist without always falling back on standards. Care is given to pick some tracks that the new listener can ease into. Jason and Mark discuss the artists history, how they fit into the metal genre and their personal history and experiences with the music. Sometimes, just in the early shows, their anecdotes and asides go to far off topic. The early shows also have background noise distractions and are slightly technically inferior. But none of that affects the music. Several shows have special guests and they often offer a detailed examination of the featured artist. There is a series of shows on crucial years in metal and a "best of" show at the end of the year. Requiem Metal podcast is an excellent introduction to the genre but also serves as an interesting and detailed show for the well-versed metal fan.
