Social Anxiety and Stress Hold Up, Let's Talk

    • メンタルヘルス

Welcome to another episode of Hold up Let’s Talk, which will focus on Social Anxiety and Stress

We can all get anxious for different reasons. Sometimes it’s from public speaking, other times from trying out a new hair style. It could also be the anxiety you feel before going on a date or even when you’re learning to drive. With social anxiety or in a social anxiety disorder, the feeling of being judged or dissected from everyday activities and interactions with people can cause varying levels of feelings of self-consciousness and anxiety, which can also lead to disruptions in life.

Jahin Tanvir is a 21 year old policy adviser, keynote speaker, author, and multicultural youth advocate. With a penchant for being multifaceted, Jahin possesses a strong background in youth advocacy, health research, and education in leading youth-led organisations and not-for-profits. With a dedicated team of volunteers, he runs Echo Chamber Escape, a diversity-first publication that promotes inclusion for people from multicultural backgrounds and recognizes their efforts in championing diversity around Australia.

In 2021, Jahin received the 2021 Young Canberra Citizen of the Year in Individual Community Service as well as recognition in the 7NEWs Young Achiever awards for NSW/ ACT in the category of community service. He is a published author with various articles published on mediums such as UNICEF, The Centre of Research Excellence in Adolescent Health, The Conversation, and Pedestrian TV as well as co-authoring his first anthology book “Life in the time of Corona” in 2020 at the age of 19, where he brings the view of multicultural young people and how different it is from mainstream Australia.
