A hard review to make
The podcast feels naively sympathetic to Maria, the centre of the story - treating her as somewhat child-like, despite very clear instances of her manoeuvring in amongst high level special interests and people so effectively. So ultimately it doesn’t feel like a very objective reading of the case. A shame, as it seems like there is a fascinating story there to be told, I just don’t feel too much faith should be put in this telling of it alone.
UPDATE: so the last episode seemed to throw a bit of a curveball at us. There’s clearly so much more story to this than 6 episodes can hold - an interesting story to follow
