The Padres battled with the Dodgers this weekend in Los Angeles and the guy who was called irrelevant by a Dodger came through for the series win in front of a national audience. San Diego overcame a 7-3 deficit in game one for what will be one of their signature wins of 2024. Ben Fadden gives you his thoughts on the San Diego Padres wild series against the Chicago Cubs. What mainly made this series wild was game one on Monday night, as you have to know by now that the Padres were down 8-0 but still ended up finding a way to win it. So much for that being the turning point though because the offense was quiet in game two and some homers were hit by Chicago. Dylan Cease went in the rubber match and looks like the Dylan Cease we all wanted.

The Padres faced the Giants for the second time in the last week or so and this time a split wasn't possible with the three-game series. Dylan Cease gave San Diego his first quality start of the year but it went to waste, as the offense failed to come through enough when they had the chances. Michael King pitched great in game two and Matt Waldron did his job on Sunday but it ended up not mattering when all things were said and done. Onto the Cubs series back at home.
