The number one question I get from parents is: What books should my child read?
This stems from the idea that there are leveled books and they are not sure which level their child should read from. There are ways to figure out which level your child is reading on if you want to use a set of leveled readers, but if you want to use all types of children’s books from the library, you will need to understand a few things about how to find the just-right books for your child. I’ll break this down into five simple steps.

All children develop at different rates and there is no one perfect age for teaching reading. In my experience, it's better to raise a late reader who loves to read than an early reader who learns to hate reading.

Children need to see books as something they choose in order to enter into a world of knowledge and fantasy. Books should not be the side note to reading instruction, but rather, the centerpiece. There is no substitute for getting lost in a good book.
